Henry Asher

Henry Asher is the President of The Northstar Group, Inc. He holds a BA in Religious Studies from Brown University, where he also studied voice and music theory in pursuit of a singing career.

At the same time, Henry was drawn to the world of finance. Entering the investment industry in 1980, he began exploring his longtime interest in great businesses and business leaders. He found that helping people to manage their investments and plan their futures suited him well. In 1986, he founded Northstar with Linda Ray and they have been business partners ever since.

Henry continues to love opera, attending the Met regularly and supporting young singers. He is a persistent runner and has finished three marathons. He and his wife Diana, a writer, enjoy skiing, hiking and travel. They are the parents of three grown sons, and Henry looks back proudly on having coached twenty-five of their sports teams. They recently welcomed their first grandson and look forward to many family adventures in years to come.

Linda Ray

A native of Natchez, Mississippi, but now a tried and true New Yorker, Linda has worked in the investment industry since 1980, when she became a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. She rose to the position of Vice President at Shearson Lehman/American Express and in 1986 made the choice to join Henry in starting The Northstar Group, Inc. A former student of opera, Linda holds a Master of Music from Northeastern Louisiana University and a Bachelor of Music from Mississippi College.

Linda sits on the women’s committee for Tina’s Wish, an organization that funds cutting edge research in the early detection of ovarian cancer, and she remains involved in the music community through her support of the Julliard School. Linda enjoys travel, reading great fiction and attending theater, opera and chamber music performances.

Bobby Asher

Bobby has been an Investment Research Associate with Northstar since 2013. He holds a Master’s degree in Sports Business Management from New York University. Bobby has a multifaceted approach to seeking out investment opportunities that is not limited to analyzing a company’s financial reports. He adds experiential and historical analysis to Northstar’s discussions. This unique perspective has led Northstar to many of its strongest investments.

In addition to his work at Northstar, Bobby is an avid runner, marathoner and coach. As a new husband and father, Bobby is aware that wise decisions made today will affect the beneficiaries of tomorrow.

Joshua Garcia

Joshua, who joined us in September of 2013, graduated from Brown University in 2012 with a degree in Ethnic Studies. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Joshua now enjoys eating and running his way through New York City.

At the office, Joshua focuses on market research, portfolio management, regulatory compliance and client service projects. Outside of the office, Joshua spends his time writing and performing original music, and rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Joshua holds his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Jeff Dziegielewski

Jeff joined Northstar in 2017 after spending the previous five years working in strategic management consulting where he advised major financial institutions on their complex change needs. Jeff, who holds a BS in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, earned the CFA ® designation in 2016 with the goal of transitioning into a career where he could follow his passion for analyzing the markets and, of critical importance, helping individuals and families plan for their long-term financial goals.

Jeff’s contributions to the office include market research, asset allocation, portfolio management, and client service projects. Outside of Northstar, he enjoys running, golfing, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his wife Kelly and his son Jeffrey.

Jeff holds the following designations and licenses:
• CFA® charterholder
• Series 7 and Series 66 licenses
• Life and Accident & Health Insurance licenses in New York

Jenna Kastner

We have known Jenna for many years, and first came to rely on her when she did fantastic work for Royal Alliance’s back office. She is our “go to” person on our larger, complex client service projects.

Jenna holds a BS in Finance/Business Administration from The School of Management at Binghamton University. She lives on Long Island with her husband, Jack, and their three young children.
